President Message

The gift of sight is something many of us are fortunate to experience every day, yet for countless children, women, men, and elderly people, the ability to see clearly remains a distant hope.

At Al-Shifa Foundation of North America (AFNA), we believe that restoring sight is about much more than treating an eye condition. It is about giving people the opportunity to learn, work, care for their families, live with dignity, and experience the world around them once again.

We are deeply grateful to our generous donors and supporters whose compassion makes this work possible. Every contribution, no matter its size, helps bring hope to someone waiting for their “Gift of Sight.”

Together, we can help transform lives—one person, one family, and one restored vision at a time.

Thank you for believing in our mission, for standing with those in need, and for being a part of this meaningful journey.

With heartfelt gratitude,
President
Al-Shifa Foundation of North America (AFNA)

Give someone the Gift of Sight

WHO WE ARE

The Al-Shifa Foundation of North America (AFNA) is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating curable blindness and poor vision among underprivileged patients in Pakistan. AFNA proudly supports the eye care projects of the Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospitals, which have delivered comprehensive, high-quality, and largely free eye care to the poor since 1991. The Trust's six state-of-the-art hospitals located in Rawalpindi, Sukkur, Kohat, Muzaffarabad and Chakwal along with over 12,000 outreach eye camps, have collectively treated over 32 million patients and performed more than 1 million surgeries (including cataract removal, laser procedures, and cornea transplants) for various diseases such as eye cancer, glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), and more, with over 90% of all patients receiving treatment entirely free of cost.

WHAT WE DO

Every day a child is enabled to see their mother for the first time – bringing joyful tears to all, vision is restored to jobless youths thus enabling them to become earning members of the family, and scores of elderly are helped to live their lives happily and independently.

At Al-Shifa, we help retrieve the colors of life! “Yes I can see,” this was the spontaneous response of Mutalli, who was recently restored vision after a successful operation at Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital. Please donate generously and make a difference in changing the lives of thousands of needy patients.
